Home / Neighborhoods / HighPoint
Highpoint is a storied neighborhood in southeast Sandy Springs. Wealthy Atlantans made their summer estates here in the early 1900’s alongside farms and hunting lodges. The Butler House on Roswell Rd is one of the last remaining homes from Highpoint’s history. The Greek-revival home was built in the 1920’s, and now houses a law office.
Today the Highpoint area is mostly comprised of single family homes, arranged in well-established subdivisions and neighborhoods. Styles range from mid-century ranch homes to expansive new construction, and everything in between. The community also encompasses the Medical Center area, where the housing options include more condominiums and apartments.
Highpoint includes two Sandy Springs city parks- Ridgeview and Windsor Meadows, and offers easy access to the rest of Sandy Springs’ green spaces via Roswell Road.
High Point is in the esteemed Riverwood International Charter High School district as well as a short drive to prestigious private schools Galloway, St. Martin, and Marist.
Highpoint stretches from the southeast corner of Sandy Springs to I-285 in the north, and Roswell Road to the west.
The Highpoint Civic Association works hard to make Highpoint a great place to live. The association monitors and maintains everything from parks and greenspaces to city planning and zoning. This hands-on approach to community management helps to keep property values high and create a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents.
We also appreciate the easy access to the restaurants, shopping, and amenities in Chastain Park, Buckhead, and the City Springs district.
Highpoint’s proximity to Roswell Rd, I-285, and GA400 offer direct access to other areas of Sandy Springs and Atlanta, but the convergence of these major thoroughfares also creates notorious traffic issues. Construction on the I-285/GA400 interchange has been going on for some time, and the project is scheduled to continue into next year.
The section of Roswell Rd along Highpoint’s western edge is particularly busy, and the medical center area draws people and traffic from around the city.
