The Abernathy Greenway Park is a linear park that runs along Abernathy Road in Sandy Springs. The park was opened in 2014. There are pavilions and picnic tables, but the highlight of the park is the Playable Art Park featuring six large playable art sculptures. The Sandy Springs Conservancy and Art Sandy Springs chose the playable sculptures from over 100 entries from around the world.
Our experts (7 and 9 yrs old) say they like the big slides and the metal sculptures you can climb on. Be sure to bring your sunscreen because there is very little shade on the playgrounds.
The Abernathy Greenway Park is located along Abernathy Road between Johnson Ferry Rd/ Brandon Mill Rd and Wright Rd. Parking is available near the western end of the park (toward Johnson Ferry Rd).
