Island Ford Park is part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation area. The park features several different hiking trails, many of which follow the banks of the Chattahoochee River. You’ll find three miles of trails throughout the park. Look for rock overhangs along the river that used to shelter Native American villagers.
The Island Ford visitor center is housed in the historic Hewlett Lodge. The former home of Georgia Superior Court Justice Samuel Hewlett was built in the 1930’s.
Visit the National Park Service website for more park information, trail maps, and more.
